This mod is one of my top 5 for 2 reasons...

1st, recently i've read the Harlequin's books of Bernard Cornwell ( that is why my character name is Thomas Vexille).
2nd, because it is extremely well done and I love playing an archer role, and in his mod archers are somewhat of a major role.

Information
This mod main objective is to convert Calradia in Britain in the year of 1297, you'll find 5 factions on a 3v2 scheme, England and English Army against Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Features:
~ A new map of the British isles.
~ Many new models.
~ Many re-textures to convert Calradia into Britain.
~ Historical lords, troops, cities and castles.
~ Five factions :-
England
English Army (situated in Ireland and Wales.)
Independent Wales
Gaelic Ireland
Scotland
~ The diplomatic status of the factions set up a 3 v 2 situation. ( England & English army will be at war with each faction while the rest are at peace). However, this is not permanent to allow change and more options for the player.
~ Emphasis on archery. The amount, the quality and use of archers you have can now determine battles of any size.
~ New quick battles scenario's.
~ Numerous tweaks so it's easier to get and maintain a larger army. However, the NPC's also have larger armies also.
~ Changes to the dialogue to suit the setting.
~ Permanent war between England and Scotland.

These screenshots were taken by Peter, the mod's leader, as soon as i come back from my vacation i'll post mine screens focused on archers.

I hope you enjoy this mod, and don't forget archers are your friends.

These images i've received from atolest, he asked me to put this image here. Hope you like it.
By the way only the last image is from the current public version. the other are from future releases.
PS: I'm, at the moment, in the a region of my country where the internet is really slow so it will be a little hard to post too much, but i'll try as much as i can so please don't give up from this blog.

Cheers.

The Peloponnesian War is another mod of my top 5, this mod is still in demo version, so it only has a few features, but, these "few" features are so great that they can get you on front of the monitor for hours and hours.

The main feature in my opinion and the most important for me is that the armors and weapons and horses are all modified, by new textures or by new stats. All textures are high definition, so many people have problems with it, but the modder was there to help, and created a patch that lower a bit the resolution of the textures, but even lowered they are extremely beautiful.
The mod creator is my compatriot Lynores, in my own opinion i think he's a genius.

The current features of the demo are :

Faction Replacements:
  • The Athenian Empire - Replaces the Swadians;
  • The State of Lacedaemon (Spartans) - Replaces the Rhodoks;
  • The Boeotian League - Replaces the Vaegirs;
  • The Scythian Tribes - Replaces the Khergits;
  • The Thracian Tribes - Replaces the Nords;

New Systems:

  • Death Scripts - Everyone can die. Having a party with high surgery, wound treatment and first aid skills helps diminishing the risk. (Script adapted from MAW's "Death Script")
  • Lords' death - If they are captured, lords can also be killed, but expect several consequences. (Script adapted from Mirathei's "Gunthunder Script")
  • Assassination - The higher the number of enemies and lords killed and enemies made, the higher the chance of being ambushed by skilled assassins. If they succeed, the character will be dead for good. It is possible, however, to recruit up to five bodyguard mercenaries that will stay with him at all times.
  • Ability to start your own kingdom and recruit your own lords (accessible through the camp menu) - Courtesy of Highlander
  • Sabotage - Once a kingdom has a low enough relation towards you, it is possible to pay spies to enter a town or castle to try and sabotage their food supplies. If they succeed, starvation will eventually force the enemy into surrender, provided the siege isn't lifted.
  • Formations - Courtesy of Mirathei

  • Shield Bashing - Courtesy of Mirathei (hold defense then press attack to bash)

Gameplay Changes :

  • Horses are extremely expensive, due to their seldom appearance in our timeframe. Their charge has been increased and their hitpoints reduced.
  • Spears are faster, meaner and they usually hit three or four at a time, thanks to Mirathei's formation script. Good timing is the rule of thumb in a phalanx.
  • There are rare items to be looted, like spartan shields that can't be purchased. There are also unique items such as kings' shields or personal equipment, that may be sold for a good amount of gold or kept for personal use.
  • Increased party size and boosted leadership bonus to keep up with it.
  • Armies are stronger, and recruit units are not fielded anymore.
  • Some village improvements have been boosted.
  • New Kingdom units

  • New Mercenary units

Planned features for the alpha release:

  • New map - done, but porting needed
  • New buildings - done, just standing by to be added to new scenes
  • New scenes - some are finished, but these will be ported gradually
  • New, expanded troop trees
  • New companions

Planned features for the beta release:

  • New factions
  • Misc. systems - tactical and political
  • Naval Combat System

I Hope you like it as much as i do.

Just like Prophesy of Pendor, this one is one of my top 5 favorites mod, i recomend it for those who like vikings or nords, especially the nice naval battle system, that it's not fully perfect, but gives a nice viking feel.
I Present you my character Uthred ( influence of Bernard Cornwell saxons novel):

and his mighty shield wall:
In the words of Ruthven, the creator of Fury of Odin mod, here's the history behinde the mod:

History
"It was a hard time. Flash floods had drowned crops and herds of animals. The snow in the mountains had blocked the Khergit trade routes from the land beyond the mountains, and spice was rare. Trade caravans had to travel much longer than usual due to small lakes appearing in the original trade routes. Bandits could now raid villages knowing that the soldiers would not be able to get around these new rivers and lakes. It drew the kingdoms of Calradia to even more destruction. The Swadians weren't as bad off as most others, as much of their land was elevated on mountains, so the water merely ran down the sides and away or got sucked up by the forests. But the blocked trade had left food scarce nonetheless.

But after years of war, the Kingdom of Rhodoks finally surrendered to the Swadians. The year after wasn't so bad. It was wonderful, in fact. Things began to pick up in Calradia once again. But the Swadians, realising their advantage, wasted no time. They immediately set out on a warpath, marching straight for their oldest enemies. The Kingdom of Vaegirs. After a few months of bloodshed, the Swadians finally managed to capture both Reyvadin and Rivacheg, where they took the old King Yaroglek, and cut his throat. It took all of two weeks after that for the Vaegirs to succumb to the Swadians as well.

Wercheg was the next to fall. The veteran armies from Rivacheg and Reyvadin both attacked this large Nordic town. The Nords had grown lazy, mere shadows of the men they once were. The Swadian rampage continued to Sargoth, where both King Harlaus and King Ragnar fell in battle. The Swadians won in the end, their numbers overwhelming the mighty Nords. The Nords had known that defeat was certain, and had already found an heir to Ragnar's throne. The Swadians hadn't. Their pace slowed, and they stopped at Sargoth, leaving Tihr and a few western castles still inhabited by Nords.

The Khergits had heard news of this, of course, and decided that it would be best to leave Calradia. On the other side of the mountains, they found small warring tribes far to the south. It didn't take much for the large Khergit armies to gain control of these people, and form a huge army of different soldiers, adding to their cavalry and giving them the infantry they lacked. After a time, they grew so powerful, the decision was made to go back over the mountains and settle Calradia once again.

While they were away, the Nordic king in Tihr, whose wife he had taken from the Nord's home island as a gift, was persuaded to ask their allies across the sea for assistance. But by the time the king's message arrived, it was too late. Konungr Olaf, a man from a place even farther North than the Nod's home island, had moved south, and conquered the lands that used to belong to the Nords. Hearing of more land to conquer to the south, he and his victorious armies readied their ships and set sail for Calradia as soon as they could.

When they arrived, they easily took Tihr from the Nords. They moved on, and conquered the castles out west, and went as far as Sargoth, where they slaughtered a large amount of Swadians. These men were unbeatable in almost every way. They were fearless, strong, fast, skilled, and, for the most part, fairly intelligent. They could run day and night, hardly ever stopping. They could fight for two hours, defeat an army twice their size, run for the rest of the afternoon and kill another army by nightfall.

The Swadians were truly afraid of these men. And with the Khergits attacking them from the south... It is sure to be bloody.

Features
  • Land ownership changed
  • Factions (Calradians, Northmen, and Khergits) redone.
  • Option to sail from port (for a small fee)
  • New parties on the map
  • New items
  • Many new troops
  • Quick Battles now changed, for those who like short, bloody battles
  • Naval battles

Upcoming Feature

  • New Quests

While i was resting after breaking my leg at the school ( the doctor sad that i had to rest for one week ), i started searching for new games at gamespot, mainly because i was bored, and suddenly i saw 16th september : Mount & Blade.
In that moment i've realized that i would like this game.
So that's how i met M&B.

Mount & Blade is a medieval, single-player open-ended action role-playing video game for Windows developed by Turkish company TaleWorlds, and published by Paradox Interactive. Its retail version was released on September 16, 2008 in North America, and three days later in Europe. The game originated as an independent project of Armagan Yavuz, founder of TaleWorlds, and his wife, Ipek Yavuz. Prior to its retail release, beta versions of the game have been published on the developer's website.Mount&Blade is an action oriented role-playing game with emphasis on mounted combat. Unlike most other titles of the genre, the game contains no fantasy elements. It does not restrict the player to a certain storyline, but instead presents a sandbox medieval realm named Calradia, in which the player is given the ability to either join one of the five available battling factions, assume the role of an outlaw, or take a neutral side..
